About

I’m a cartographer and data visualizer with a background in human-geography and GIS (geo-data analysis and visualisation) and a strong interest in journalism. I worked for VPRO (Nederland van Boven, Onzichtbaar Nederland), consultancy in energy transition (Over Morgen) and currently as freelance information designer at NRC newspaper.
I like to make visuals that make complex topics more accessible — with a special interest in stories that explore the relationship between people and place — like environmental change, urban development, mobility, and social inequality. I enjoy working on investigations that help uncover patterns, or bring underreported issues to light.
I enjoy collaborating closely with journalists and editors, combining my visual and data-driven thinking with editorial insight.
I’m always exploring new tools, techniques, and programming languages to improve how I work.
For me technical skills are not just tools, but also creative extensions that help me find better, smarter ways to tell a story.
I believe that good visual storytelling can help people better understand urgent issues, ask better questions, and see the bigger picture.
